"What is the burka band?" It is an female-only indie band, formed in the year 2002 by three afghan women in Kabul with the help from a few German musicians that came to visit the country. The three women formed the band because it's to describe current life for women in Afghanistan and how the women's rights in the country have been stripped from them by the Taliban. In simple terms, the afghan women formed their band to protest how they and other afghan women have no rights because of the Taliban. Furthermore, only 10 people personally knew the band and the band members, the Taliban is out trying to find the women behind this band, but they can't because of the burka they enforced on all afghan women to wear. "Where are they now?" The lead singer is now in Germany and as for the guitarist and the drummer, it is rumored they were punished by death. We don't and will never know what ACTUALLY happened to the band members. "Why does the father, grandpa and uncle wear a burka even though they're not women?" Some men in Afghanistan wear burkas to disguise themselves as a woman so as to fool other women and get closer to them so the disguised men can do horrid things to women. So it kind of explains the line "you don't know who is who" because you can't tell if a person wearing a burka is a man or a woman, unless you hear their voice first but you can't because it is forbitten for a woman's voice to be heard in public.
