Procompsognathus Class β Procompsognathus, or procompies, or P. oophaganura, are very similar to compies. The only difference from a distance is their vibrant red and blue coloration, similar to dart frogs of the genus Oophaga. This species was initially found in brazil, but soon spread to other continents much like compies. While compies can live anywhere, procompies thrive only in the tropics, and when eating certain insects, specifically those which contain formic acid, such as ants, their saliva becomes poisonous. This is different than being venomous, because every drop of this animal's saliva acts as its own tiny dart frog, while compy venom is extremely weak and can rarely take effect unless dozens of bites affect you, and even then, the venom acts as an anesthetic rather than being actively harmful or deadly. In areas where procompies have replaced compies, small prey items usually have lower populations due to their higher kill rate, and larger scavengers are much less common.
