The Epsilonian Rakostate

Somewhere near late 2415, King Jacob Julien had started plans to flesh out the Rakonian space agency. Rakonia currently had been using the Uman Space Agency from the Azovu era. In mid 2416, it was publicly announced that Rakonia was planning a space mission and needed candidates. 14,000 individuals, mostly raccoons, applied and trained for the astronaut corps of the Uman Space Agency. Fast forward to the start of 2418, King Jacob Julien III and King von Karma had started negotiations through a heavily encrypted call network. In February, both parties agreed to terms and the Kingdom of Rakonia officially managed to establish territory in the Epsilon planet found within the Skyriver system. Rakonian officials then started rapidly planning and organizing a space travel. It is only in late March that the government had publicly announced this gain, and their plans to send the first raccoon astronauts into space. The population celebrated, marking the start of further Procyonid evolution. 2 raccoons, 28-year-old Heorhii Tarasovych and 31-year-old Bohdan Chernovych, whom had passed training months earlier, were selected to be the first astronauts of their race. Their objective was to test how Procyon biology handled FTL travel, as well as to scout the Epsilon terrain and set up landmarks within the Rakostate borders. Polit Protsionu I was the official name of the space mission, which started in April 5 as Heorhii and Bohdan blasted off in an older Uman spaceship around 5 A.M. After using a slingshot maneuver around Earth, propelling themselves using gravitational force, they went towards the moon, before using the Oberth Effect and firing fusion engines at the highest kinetic energy and launched themselves well out of the solar system at incredible speeds. Using powerful ion propulsion, they travelled across the galaxy until arriving near Skyriver. Arriving at Epsilon, the crew dipped the spaceship nose into the upper layers of the atmosphere, in which they used friction and aerobraking maneuvers to drop their speed, lock into orbit, and safely land within the Epsilon river in August 19. They had survived and officially earned their titles as the first raccoon astronauts. Their Procyonid biology proved surprisingly resilient with FTL travel, although they arrived disoriented due to having sensitive senses. There, Heorhii and Bohdan communicated their achievement to the Uman Space Agency back on Earth, before scouting the planet. They talked to the locals, observed the environment, and concluded that it was majorly a safe place to live. Heorhii then planted the flags of Rakonia and the New Uma Order in the north of the Rakonian territory, near the river, officially establishing the Epsilonian Rakostate (also known as the Епсилонська Ракодержава, or Epsylonska Rakoderzhava). A shorthand is Rako-Epsilon. King Julien III, content with the results, then played out his larger plan. He would send a part of his population to live in Epsilon. Around 9,000 raccoon and 10,000 human applicants, many of which had many skills and did various jobs, were chosen to enter large spaceships that had started construction around early 2417, with each spaceship managing to support 500 individuals. Their arrival took until July of 2419, using similar but less extreme techniques to those of Heorhii and Bohdan. They would settle, meet the locals, build houses, and lay out their civilization, with help from Rakonian and Anakinnovian support, which would be completed in late 2420. They would also interact with Anakinnovians, exchanging ideas and technology. Volodymyr Antonovych has been elected by King Julien III as the Namisnyk leader for the territory. As of now, the military of the Rako-Epsilon is rather small, but Volodymyr is actively working to build it up. Mass construction of fleets in Earth was ordered by King Julien III in late 2418, and in the 19,000 who arrived, around 6,000 were soldiers. Military camps are also being constructed near the southern areas. In an 2419 address, Volodymyr stated "we know that this rapid military buildup is raising various concerns over whether we are to attack our neighbors. Rest assured that we will not do such thing anytime soon. We seek to foster good relations with our neighbors, but also recognize the responsibility to protect our people and aid our allies. We desire for Epsilon to be safe and prosperous for all." What is a Rakostate? A Rakostate is a Rakonian territory in which the leader of Rakonia (and consequently, the leader of the NUO) hold sovereign power, like making laws, passing edicts, veto power, decision making, economy, management, etc. But a separate leader, called a Namisnyk, is assigned to carry out the orders of the higher leaders, manage local operations, and adapt the government for the people it rules over. They themselves have officials and can make laws (if approved by the higher leaders). However, Rakostates are classified as direct territory of Rakonia.
