The next day was the Quidditch match: Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw. The teams were just taking the field. Then Madam White blew her whistle; she was the new flying instructor. Marleen flew toward the hoops. The game began. Gryffindor scored a goal. "Goal for Gryffindor!" shouted the stadium announcer, Annika Mori. "Goal for the Ravens!" she liked to use nicknames. The Ravens were the Ravenclaws; the Lions were the Gryffindors; the Snakes were the Slytherins; and the Hufflepuffs were the Yellows. "120 to 88," in favor of Gryffindor. If Mia caught the Snitch now, they would win. Marleen saw the Quaffle coming toward her and tried to catch it. But at that moment, everything went black. She came to after a few seconds, but she couldn't stay on her broom and fell to the ground. She was only vaguely aware of the others widening their eyes in shock and swooping down. Then, darkness took her again. "Is she dead?" Mia asked Madam Pomfrey fearfully. "No!" When Marleen regained consciousness, she was lying in the hospital wing. The Gryffindor Quidditch team was standing by her bed. "Did we lose?" "Yes," Mia said regretfully. "Are you feeling better?" she asked. "Yes. A little." "She has to stay in bed for the next few days," they heard Madam Pomfrey say.
