~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`~ Leedsichthys (leed-sick-thees), name meaning "Leeds' fish" and commonly nicknamed "Leed", was a genus of pachycormid bony fish that lived in multiple parts of the world during the Callovian to the Tithonian ages of the Jurassic period, around 165 to 148 million years ago. It was the largest ray-finned fish, and among the largest fish known to have existed, rivalled only by modern whale sharks and the otodontid shark Carcharocles Megalodon. It is also among the largest aquatic creatures currently in the game, with the other creatures close in size being the aforementioned C. megalodon, Shastasaurus, Basilosaurus, and the Mosasaurus. Following different estimates of 9 meters (30 feet) and even 30 meters (98 feet), more recent studies have estimated a length of 16.5 meters (54 feet) for the largest individuals. It is part of a taxonomic lineage of large-sized filter feeders, similar to the whale sharks it rivalled in size and modern baleen whales, although this is not accurately represented in-game due to the lack of plankton in the map. The only apex predator big enough to attack the Leedsichthys in the Oxford Clay Formation was the Liopleurodon, but other predators may prey on it in different parts of the sea. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
