The CLK GTR AMG was originally developed for Le Mans, but for homologation, 19 coupes and 6 roadsters were produced. The car suffered from three peculiar accidents at the 1999 Le Mans race. The accidents were caused in part by a huge amount of rear downforce and weight (the V12) and the front lacked weight and had less downforce. So, when the car pulled out to pass along the straight- the front wheels lifted up and the car started doing somersaults in the air. Miraculously, none of the drivers where harmed. Soreness and bruises only. It's still my favorite car.
