In 1834 the city of Yorkonto was founded by Mayor Phillip Mckenzie, in honor of the old military base called York, the city was renamed to Yorkonto. In 1910 the city faced a massive fire burning 100 buildings in the west side of the city. During the 40s-50s the city had a huge increase of population, immigrants throughout the world came into Casdania, a majority of the 44% of immigrants went to Yorkonto. By 1960-70, skyscrapers were rapidly being built, this caused a problem for TV and radios throughout the city, in 1972 the AT Tower (Apex Tower) was built to solve the telecommunications problems Yorkonto and its citizens were facing. It remained the tallest skyscraper until 2002. Throughout the 90s the city faced a huge economic boom. Banks were flourishing and the entertainment of sports was only getting bigger. The sport teams in Yorkonto are: Baseball Yorkonto Beavers, Basketball Yorkonto Lynx, and Hockey Yorkonto Wolves. By 1989 Cheezbank requested the city to build a skyscraper, one was planned to be built for its increasing workers. The company faced and hurdled through legal battles with the height regulations, law suits were filed and by 1994 the plan was approved the only flaw was the building would have to have antennas on the top to make sure the communications can flow through the city.
