hi i've been pushing off the announcement project as long as possible but i received a report today that was. concerning so here we are! -- misc. reminders - you can't ride your companions ok? ok you can maybe idk sit on a deers back for a second as it very very slowly meanders about but you cannot full gallop through the wilderness on it nor can you ride your swan through the skies i am so so sorry - no bluetooth children i.e. if a parent of a litter dies (either gender for fairness, even if bio) you have a week to both open and close said litter because kits start at 1 moon old so if you died earlier then they were born then. -- if its an adopted litter it only needs 1 living parent to operate however it wont be related to the dead parent if its not within the 1 week - medics name themselves at 12 moons or their mentor names them but it's self-regulated ok so youre in charge of keeping track of that ---- - new rule for unregistered kits to please specify theyre unregistered in starters to make it easier on counters, thank you ---- please don't ask me or rush me about mossclan revival, i get that it's very exciting and everyone is excited but rushing to make litters before i've even released the rules rubs me the wrong way, along with asking questions about delphine and for permission for all of these lore plans when the lore hasn't even. begun at all in the slightest please understand that i. was kind of hoping to get a longer revival break than this and revivals are a little bit taxxing for me, and i have a LOT of other updates i've been working on this summer, and I genuinely do have to push those aside to prioritize this. for example, ironically i was very close to finishing mossclan art but i haven't been able to finish it yet because i had to draw other things for the revival and i need to prioritize this for a few reasons so while i appreciate the suggestion to prioritize the other stuff the revive just simply has to come first. however. i really do not want people to be lax with mossclan's survival simply on the point that it revives, and that revival is super fun. it is not fair to me. so i am going to be upfront that if mossclan dies again in the next few months it will not be revived for quite some time. --- OK IMPORTANT. i get the wolves are annoying. i understand that. somebody reported to me that they have an apprentice with 0/0 stats and have received 6 separate "unofficial generations" notices about how they have to fight the wolves or else they'll die,,, in the past //six days.// this is not okay behavior gang i'm sorry you don't sign up for a roleplay only to get genuinely spammed and harassed and that's not behavior i'm willing to tolerate. from this point on, the only one allowed to notify the entire clan of explorations, wolves, etc. and spam people are the leaders/deputies,,, or the medics if the medics have perms from me additionally these notifs cannot be guilt-trippy, the leaders/deputies should be genuinely offering rewards or engagement for fighting. it's insane that these notifications are reading like "you need to fight or else everyone will die and you wouldn't want that, right? :(" the point of the wolves is SELF sacrifice keyword self. not guilt tripping other people into making that decision. i understand that not everyone can fight the wolves. i understand that but inrp peril should NEVER allow oorp harassment. ultimately if you want my opinion i think it's going to be very hard for flurryclan to recover, theyve had a few unlucky rolls with wolves consecutively, and now we're going into even harder seasons and you guys should pivot your gears into other productive means of survival, as a GROUP and a TEAM. //communicate// with your highranks. --- "years" in this section refers to inrp years, to clarify, which are about 3 irl months long. i also want to acknowledge that you guys /have/ been trying and i do appreciate that. i want to apologize for how hard this inrp year has been, i know it's been frustrating. every inrp year i try my best to balance the prey/safety gain depending on what i saw from the last year. the settings this year remained unchanged from last year because last year went exceedingly well, but i overlooked a detail and i think it might have at least been partially responsible for this year's peril. the balance of inrp years is just a constant state of me overcorrecting and trying to find whats best. the inrp years genuinely represent well on good years and bad years. some years i will overcorrect too much in one direction, and we'll end up with clans with. 1000+ prey. those are good, plentiful years. and other years are like this. + n+c
and i've set a precedent multiple inrp years ago not to allow myself to change the values midyear when possible, because i know i'd be guilttripped or pressured to change them otherwise, or that people might be less worried about it because they'd assume i'd just change it if it got too bad. especially since these values are unchanged from the last year, i do know that they aren't like. the WORST ever. and i also think that. the clans are old, theyve both existed multiple REAL LIFE years now. if they were new and fresh and still getting their legs, i usually try to offer a helping hand. but ultimately, theyre old enough now that they should be allowed to die, and that things should be allowed to change and clan dynamics allowed to shift. i will say that next inrp year i will try my best to overcorrect to give you guys an easy year, you guys deserve it for this one. and then we can reevaluate. there are about five more weeks until then. best of luck. take care of your mental health. i've rushed mossclan revival even more exceedingly than initially planned with the pure intent to give those who have died a nicer place to hang out, as i am very aware people are getting frustrated and not having fun. i think this is perfect as delphine does not allow outsiders, so this will only apply to people who have died and are looking for refuge and a break from the grind for their next character, without hurting the other clans as much by causing a mass exodus or anything. additionally, kps and loners are always open :) ok? ok --- ending with a lighter note ive decided to mostly likely focus in generations' territory inspiration on specifically the southern and western areas of the hudson bay in canada :) fun facts that this means: - urchinclan is an inland sea! this means it can freeze over in the winter but still have cool creatures like orcas and whales and urchins and fun stuff :) - mossclan, when its territory will be revealed, will be based on a boreal birch forest which is slightlyllyyy less realistic but still within the realm of possibility - i may consider converting flurryclans area to a peatlands!! as we already have several tundras/open grasslands on the map and i think a more wetlands area would still fit flurrys vibe while allowing a lot more ecological fun and variety... this means flurrys willow thats in their camp makes a lot more sense too - also hudson bay is known for polar bears but we dont talk about that it literally has every other creature that gens has it just. also has polar bears. so. thats fun. (to be fair we already know there are things like grizzly bears and other types of bears are in the area but we just dont really mention bears in stuff like our predator listings because. a cat cant defeat a bear im sorry... with wolves i can feasibly ATTEMPT to understand... but with a bear? no) --- im not closing comments on this one unless they go south and aggressive but dont forget to discuss in oorp as ive seen you guys be better at thoughtful discussion there https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1231045330
