On October 13, 1907, a small detachment of Wilczech Naval Infantry departed from the W.R.S Instrom and claimed a small island between Scheeland and Prospiria as a sovereign territory of Wilczech. The Island was soon explored, and a port was laid down as well as the necessary local infrastructure. This is part of a larger move to decrease Wilczech's reliance on narrow chokepoints that funnel most of Wilczech's trade, as well as combating increasing reports of pirate attacks on Wilczech shipping. Plans to connect the Island to the mainland via a railroad or canal are currently being drafted.
