plaintext: rule 1: this studio is a place to support everyone! remember to be kind and respectful. this includes: - assuming good faith - keeping discourse contained - not discussing the validity of any identities - not leaving rude or passive-aggressive comments about others be kind and respectful to everyone. discussion of the validity of identities is prohibited dude to the harm the concept of identity validity causes. when someone breaks a rule, assume they didn't know and remind them kindly. please don't vaguepost, which is the act of negatively posting about someone without mentioning them by name. rule 2: don't spam, wait until your comment/project is off the first page before reposting or re-adding it. don't add aesthetics, low-effort remixes, bandwagon chains, or non-LGBTQ+/hive related projects. Only add the first chapter of stories. do not add bandwagon/remix/chain projects. some examples are as follows - - aesthetic sets - "remix if"/"sign if" projects - "add yourself as" projects - "___hive outfit" - yearbook entries - templates you've filled out - any other project trends make sure your project/comment is off the first page before reposting/adding it. keep projects related to LGBTQ+/the hive. rule 3: only post scratch-appropriate vents relating to LGBTQ+. other vents are not permitted, but can be posted elsewhere and mentioned here. vents are (typically, they can be shorter) 2+ sentence-long rants about negative experiences or feelings you've had. mildly unfortunate experiences, such as stepping on gum or losing a key, do not count as vents and are allowed. a loved one dying or extremely depressive feelings such as "i'm worthless" do count as vents. if a vent is related to being LGBTQ+, it is allowed. any other vents can be posted elsewhere and mentioned on the hive. you can also ask to vent to someone directly. rule 4: use noticeable trigger warnings for the topics on the TW list: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/34672733 use a noticeable trigger warning at the beginning of your comment if necessary. a good example would be "caps //// comment in all caps", whereas a bad one would be "caps Comment in all caps". due to scratch having no spoiler function, making the TW as noticable as you can is ideal. rule 5: all typing quirks that cannot be typed on a QWERTY keyboard are not permitted. typing quirks with full words or sentences are not permitted (ex. "[quote] comment text") typing quirks that cannot be typed on a standard QWERTY keyboard are not allowed. accented letters & degree symbols/numbers do not fall under this. typing quirks with words or sentences in them ( ex. "[quote] comment text") are banned. this rule is here to help users with screenreaders and keep the hive open and accessible to all. rule 6: don't interact with, mention, or link trolls/bullies, as this gives them attention. instead, report and ignore. what is a troll? if you see a troll on the studio, report and ignore. do not tell others to report them, discuss them in the studio, reply to them, or otherwise bring attention to them, as it only feeds their behavior. saying "rule 6" in reply to them or in the studio is also giving them attention. don't click on any links from trolls or other suspicious individuals. a manager will almost always tell you if you replied to a troll/bully unknowingly. misc: utilize althive! if a bandwagon or topic is making you uncomfortable, head over to althive to post. shipping studio members is not allowed, even with consent. please refrain from responding to other's vents with things like "real/same" or any negative comments. CGS/TOS: follow the community guidelines. be kind, don't mention inappropriate topics, don't mention anything relating to self-harm (including staying up all night, not eating, etc.), review the community guidelines every once in a while to refresh yourself on these rules. discussion of addiction is prohibited due to the community guidelines. the same goes for the TOS! specifically relating to it, we don't invite ban evaders as curators. thumbnail: the thumbnail must include the words "the lgbtq+ studio" and "a safe space for all" somewhere on it. the exceptions for this are during april 1st, or if the thumbnail is changed only for a moment/being changed rapidly. "all" can also be replaced with any other word, ex. "fish", "gays", a reference, etc. the description must include a thumbnail ID unless the thumbnail is being used for 5 minutes or less.
