Click the green flag to start the game. For a two-player game, click the purple 2P button. For a three-player game, click the purple 3P button. For a four-player game, click the purple 4P button. The game will deal 5 cards to each player and flip the top card of the remaining deck face up to start the discard pile. Click the green Start button to see your cards. On your turn, you can play a card with the same color, number, or symbol as the top card of the discard pile. You can also play a card that is up to one color away from the color of the top card of the discard pile. (See the Notes and Credits section for more information on the spectrum and special cards.) If you cannot play a card or if you choose not to play a card, click the face down deck to draw a card and end your turn. You cannot play the drawn card immediately on that turn even if it would be playable. After you play a card or draw, pass the device to the next player to let them take their turn. If you play your last card, you'll win the round and score points for the cards remaining in opponents' hands as follows. Number cards (0 through 9): Face value (a 5 is worth 5 points, and so on) Skip cards: 20 points each Reverse cards: 20 points each Draw 2 cards: 20 points each Wild cards: 50 points each Wild Draw 4 cards: 50 points each After that, the game will start the next round with the winner of the last finished round going first.
For the first round, the starting player will be decided randomly. For the second round and onwards, the player who won the previous round goes first. If the top card flipped to start the round isn't a number card, the game will flip another card face up to the discard pile until a number card (0 through 9) is flipped. The order of the colors in the spectrum is Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Teal, Blue, Purple, Magenta, and back to Red to complete the cycle. When you play a card with a special symbol on it, one of the following actions will be triggered depending on what the symbol on that card is. Skip (a card with a circle with a diagonal line in it): The next player loses a turn and the player after them in the current turn order goes next. In a two-player game, the player who played this card takes another turn. Reverse (a card with a pair of arrows pointing in opposite directions): The turn order changes from clockwise to counterclockwise and vice versa. The arrow to the right of the discard pile will flip to indicate this. In a two-player game, it has the same effects of a Skip card, so the player who played this card takes another turn. Draw 2 (a card with "+2" written on the upper left and lower right corners with two colored cards on the center): The next player draws 2 cards and skips their turn unless they can play another Draw 2 card regardless of color. If they do, the player after them in the current turn order draws 4 cards unless they can play a third Draw 2 card which forces the player after them to draw 6 cards unless they can play a fourth Draw 2 card, and so on until the cards are finally drawn. Wild (a card with a circle showing all eight colors): This card can be played anytime on your turn unless the player before you discarded a Draw 2 card or a Wild Draw 4 card. When played, you can change the current color to any color of your choice. Click on one of the eight colored buttons that appear above the deck and the discard pile that corresponds to your choice to change the current color to that color. Wild Draw 4 (a card with "+4" written on the upper left and lower right corners with a circle showing all eight colors with four black cards on the center): This card can be played anytime on your turn unless the player before you discarded a Draw 2 card. When played, you can change the current color (see the explanation of the Wild card for how to change the current color) and the next player draws 4 cards unless they can play another Wild Draw 4 card. Like with Draw 2 cards, its effects can be stacked by multiple players in turn order. The deck includes 112 cards as follows. 10 Red cards (one of each card numbered 0 through 9) 10 Orange cards (one of each card numbered 0 through 9) 10 Yellow cards (one of each card numbered 0 through 9) 10 Green cards (one of each card numbered 0 through 9) 10 Teal cards (one of each card numbered 0 through 9) 10 Blue cards (one of each card numbered 0 through 9) 10 Purple cards (one of each card numbered 0 through 9) 10 Magenta cards (one of each card numbered 0 through 9) 8 Skip cards (one in each color) 8 Reverse cards (one in each color) 8 Draw 2 cards (one in each color) 4 Wild cards 4 Wild Draw 4 cards
