Deinonychus_Saurus’ first time seeing a ingen brachiosaurus and my capybara wants to feed that brachio :) ————————Informations——————————— Brachiosaurus is a member of the sauropod family and one of the most well-known of all dinosaurs. It gets its name from the great height of its humerus, or upper arm bone - which is longer than most humans are tall. For almost a century, Brachiosaurus was considered the tallest of all dinosaurs, being over 20 meters tall. Since then, other dinosaurs have been discovered to have been taller. Originally discovered in 1900 in Colorado, the United States, Brachiosaurus was named in 1903 by Elmer Riggs of the Field Museum in Chicago. Brachiosaurus was once thought to have lived in both the United States and Africa (Tanzania) and Europe (Portugal) in the Jurassic. Scientists believed that Africa and North America were connected during the Jurassic. However, the African species of Brachiosaurus is now thought to be a different genus called Giraffatitan. New studies by computer specialists suggest that Brachiosaurus may not have carried its neck angle up as high as was thought once. It may have carried the neck more at a 45 - 60 degree angle. InGen's original clones exhibit several traits characteristic of Giraffatitan. Notably, it possesses a tall, dome-shaped skull with a prominent nasal crest situated above the eyes—a feature absent in the North American Brachiosaurus. Additionally, the nostrils are depicted atop the head, aligning with outdated interpretations of Giraffatitan's anatomy[1]. They would communicate by using whale-like hoots. Also, unlike the original dinosaur, the cloned Brachiosaurus had hind legs strong enough to allow them to get into a tripod stance while feeding. Moreover, these clones chewed their food, unlike the original Brachiosaurus and other sauropods, which could mean the Brachiosaurus clones probably didn't require gastroliths to aid in digestion. The clones have elephant-like feet instead of one large claw on the first toe of each front foot and claws on the first three toes of their back feet. The Brachiosaurus on Isla Nublar came in several different colours, mostly varying tones of grey or brown. Some individuals also had a blue/turquoise crest, albeit it remains unknown if this is meant to signify sexual dimorphism, or if it is just individual variation. Three juvenile Brachiosaurus have been encountered, all of which are pale brown. There is evidence that this variant also existed on Isla Sorna. First of all, this variant of Brachiosaurus is seen in a field guide used by Roland Tembo during his time on Isla Sorna. Secondly, Firecracker (a young Brachiosaurus seen in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous) may have come from Site B, given the fact that Mantah Corp was known to pillage several of its species from this island. This second variant of Brachiosaurus, seen exclusively on Isla Sorna, differs from the other cloned counterparts in many aspects, the first of which is their head. While the former variant has a much more Giraffatitan-inspired crest, the crest on the Isla Sorna Brachiosaurs is much smaller and thinner. Aside from this, there are few other morphological differences. According to the Jurassic Park III's size chart, they are approximately 51ft (15.5m) high and 52ft (15.8m) long, which also makes them smaller than what the DPG claims the other variant to be. Their colouration is far more vibrant, however, being primarily green with wite striping. Some individuals, potentially the males, have red crests. It is worth noting, however, that the Brachiosaurus present in Jurassic World: The Exhibition have the same head shape as the Isla Sorna Brachiosaurs, yet possesses the same colour scheme as the Isla Nublar individuals. However, the whole exhibition is considered soft-canon at best, so its inclusion here is only trivial. Brachiosaurus has been observed exhibiting both herd behavior and occasional individual foraging. In certain instances, alone Brachiosaurus will separate from the group temporarily to find food before rejoining the others. For example, in Jurassic Park, a female Brachiosaurus was seen feeding on plants while the rest of the herd gathered at a nearby watering hole. However, they were not too far apart from each other, indicating a tendency to regroup. Additionally, Brachiosaurus has the ability to rear up on its hind legs in order to reach vegetation that is too tall for them to access at ground level. This behavior allows them to utilize a wider range of plant resources. —————————Notes and Credits———————— Requested by: Universal Studios Jurassic Park Jurassic Work Jurassic World Dominion Dimetrodon Kakapo :3 Raptor_Saurus IF USED, CREDIT ME Music: A Dimetrodon A Dozen —————————————————————————
