The Vega ST-18Z (Shturmovyy Tank Model 2418 Zapas [Assault Tank Model 2418 Stock]) Is an Uman Main Battle Tank developed by Vega Heavy Arms Manufactory, the first in the nation's history to not have been made by an AMVM (Azov Motor Vehicle Manufactory) Related Company (Vityaz, Nikolov, Sleyditz, etc.) and was developed to replace the aging fleet of MCV-125s and also incorporate more modernized modules. Testing for this tank took place around early 2418 at an undisclosed location, before it was issued the green light for production around March of 2418. This tank is also the first Indigenous Tank Design of the NUO to incorporate an Autoloading Mechanism. In 2413, The Uman Ground Defense Forces began a contract competition between Nikolov, Vityaz, and Vega. Between 2413 and 2414, all 3 corporations developed potential MBT designs, including the MCV-125/2 from Nikolov, BT-13 from Vityaz, and ST-15Z from Vega. Eventually, Vega was awarded the contract to begin development of the ST-15Z, later renamed the ST-18Z after its year of testing.
