Mostly about the Westward Expansion of the US, believing that they were divinely destined to expand from the shores of the Atlantic to the Pacific. Many of the Native Americans and Mexicans who were from the states that were formerly a part of Mexico until the Mexican-American War officially ended were affected. Native Americans were victims of genocide/displaced, and the orphans were raised in churches to be "Americanized." The Mexicans from the states and Native Americans were cut from their language, culture, and a part of themselves. There was also the annexation of Texas, the Louisiana Purchase, which played a role in the expansion, and many other events.
