The year was 2003, BWNL 2222 carrying flammable liquid was traveling across the mainline of the Coast-Link Railway, the only major BWNL that didn't want to electrify their mainlines. On a Railway Crossing, a truck carrying explosives for testing purposes got stuck on the train tracks, this is a recipe for disaster. This is the only known video footage of this culture-changing crash. Why is it culture changing? Well, this town was an important oil-mining town. After the accident, the Bluebell Mountain regions faced a massive oil crisis. Forcing the Bluebell Railway to electrify all their mainlines, as other Objecian Railways refused to give them oil (i wonder why). This accident also got level crossings banned from Objecian Railways. From now on, when roads cross railway lines, they have to go over or under the tracks, especially since Objecian trains are getting faster. One survivor described the explosion as a "Sudden Volcano of Torment" While the truck driver left the truck when he realized it's stuck, and the train engineer jumped off the train right after he applied the breaks, many Objecians in the town perished, either from the explosion itself or the inferno it caused. Both locomotives were damaged beyond repair and were total losses, they were sold for scrap metal. So, what can we learn from this tragic event? Well, a lot.
