Oliver Tree died at age 32 following a mid-air helicopter collision in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 14, 2026, at roughly 3:00 PM local time. Tree was traveling through South America as part of his massive "The World's First World Tour". On Sunday morning, two helicopters collided in mid-air over Recreio dos Bandeirantes, a neighborhood in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro. Eyewitnesses reported a horrifying scene. A local tire repair worker, Fernandes de Freitas, stated he saw one of the aircraft burst into flames immediately after the impact. He also observed one passenger desperately jump from the second aircraft before it struck the ground. One of the crippled helicopters plummeted directly into the parking lot of an electric vehicle dealership. The impact punctured the vehicles' battery packs, triggering a massive, rapid fire that completely incinerated roughly 20 cars. Rio de Janeiro’s Military Fire Department responded quickly to extinguish the blaze and later confirmed that all six individuals across both aircrafts died instantly.
