Despite this he still believes that he should, and has to help other cats in order to earn and maintain relationships, which he treasures. This can seem ‘innocent’ but sometimes takes a darker turn as he becomes overprotective of the cats he cares about, unable to bear the thought of losing them. He clings tightly to relationships and finds it difficult to recognise when his help is unwanted or unnecessary. Though far less trusting than he once was, he still longs for guidance and certainty, often placing the needs of others above his own.
