{Setting: Flame Core} Nova stares at Silver as her head tilts. Nova: *thinks: I don’t get it. This is what he wanted. So why is he upset?* … *thinks back to moments ago, recalling his trembling hands as he stared at Blaze* … *softly to herself* …because of her? Silver sniffles, then rubs his nose. He notices the emeralds still shinning on the ground by his feet and quietly picks them up. Silver: *lifts them close and sees his face reflected* … *takes in a breath then releases a heavy sigh, and turns to leave* … ! *Nova catches his attention* Huh? Nova: *meets his gaze* ! *her ears lower as she takes a step back* … Silver: *his eyes narrow suspiciously upon taking notice of her aura* …who are—? Before he can finish, the warm yellow light of the sun is overtaken by a blinding white light. It swiftly consumes the sky, then comes down over the world. Silver & Nova’s heads both jerk up in shock, but soon have to duck down as they cover their faces to shield their eyes. The ground crumbles out from under Silver. He goes to catch himself, but his body floats in the air without his intervention. Unable to open his eyes from the light he tries to feel around, but touches nothing. His feet then reunite with the ground…but on a flat tile surface, rather than the uneven rocky terrain of Flame Core. Silver: What…? *shakes his head then as the light subsides, he opens his eyes, and finds himself in a strange, endless void.* He’s landed on the be the altar of Solaris, but he’s definitely not in Soleanna. The platform appears to be floating, broken off from its home, and trapped in this purgatory. Other pieces of Soleanna also levitate around the altar. Silver: … ! *looks at his now empty hands* …the chaos emeralds have disappeared. “Silver?” Silver: ! *turns and sees Amy, alongside Tails & Knuckles staring at him* What are you doing here? This is all so confusing… “It’s all because of Solaris…” Silver, Amy, Knuckles & Tails then look to see Shadow, Rouge, & Omega on the altar with them as well…but then everyone’s attention turns to Dr.Eggman who stands among them too. Knuckles raises his fists in a ready manner. Dr.Eggman: *looking up at the sky* It seems we were all caught by the spacial distortion. Everyone follows Dr.Eggman’s gaze and looks up. High above them is a bright light. Silver narrows his eyes at the strange gleaming ball, as it resembles the sun…but gives him an uneasy feeling. Sparkles of light radiate from it and fly out into the distortion. Dr.Eggman: Iblis’ seal has been broken… *turns and looks over to the other end of the altar* …due to Mephiles’ manipulation. Silver turns with the others, and his eyes widen at the sight. Elise is sitting on the ground with a mournful gaze, holding Sonic in her lap, as the hedgehog lies motionless. Amy: Sonic? *hurries over* Silver: … *watches some of the others approach, then steps up as well beside Amy* Tails: *shakes his head in disbelief* No…you don’t think…? Knuckles: *steps closer as he calls out to him* Sonic! But despite his friends’ voices, the blue hedgehog doesn’t stir, and Elise continues to hold him close. Amy’s breath grows heavy and Silver watches her drop to her knees, then hold her face in her hands as she sobs. Unable to watch, Silver shuts his eyes and backs away. Shadow’s crossed arms lower as his eyes shut as well, and he remains silent. Eggman shakes his head. Dr.Eggman: Mephiles played us all for fools! His plan all along was to cause the Princess to be so consumed with despair that she’d cry. Silver: *his eyes open with a glare as his snout scrunches in frustration* So that’s why he wanted me to kill Sonic before… *grips his hand into a tight fist* Shadow: … *silently turns away to cross his arms again* The world around them rattles as a roar erupts from above. A horrifying screech booms and echos through the void. Everyone does their best to keep their footing. Silver: ! *looks up towards the light* Solaris! Dr.Eggman: This creature will consume all existing timelines…and time itself will collapse and disappear into nothingness. Shadow: *gazes about* The instability of time caused this time-space rift. Dr.Eggman: It won’t remain…for much longer. Knuckles: We’ve no time to waste! We’ve got to defeat it NOW! Dr.Eggman: …no. It is a transcendent life form that exists in the past, present, and future. Defeating it here, now, would do nothing. Everyone goes quiet. A silent sense of despair and hopelessness rests over all them as they lower their heads…except… Silver: *still staring up at the light* . . . *takes in a breath with a determined glisten in his eyes* …no, I won’t give up. There HAS to be a way. Everyone then turns their attention to Silver. Even Elise looks up. All eyes are on him. Silver: *firm tone* If you say it exists in the past, present, and future…I’ll destroy them all at once! *raises his fist*
