This Scratch project is a part of a story series. You can read the story down below in the "Notes and Credits".
{Setting: Space-Time Distortion} Nova waits for a spoken word, but only hears another howl come from the beast. The collie’s face shifts with concern as she hears a sense of frustration and a weak tone to the cry. Lifting her head up, she takes in the god’s appearance once again and begins to question it. He does not resemble any of the depictions of Solaris she had seen growing up. What stands out to her the most is the absence of his imposing wings. Nova: …is something wrong, my god? *stares up as she remains on her knees* Another angered bellow comes from Solaris, and Nova thinks to herself, then her eyes glow. In her future vision, across the space-time distortion, she witnesses Silver, along with the other allies of Sonic the Hedgehog, taking on Solaris’ minions and gathering the seven emeralds that are scattered through the distortion. Bringing them together, Princess Elise uses their power to resurrect Sonic, and Nova’s eyes widen as she sees Sonic, Shadow, and Silver take on Solaris. Nova: *bares her teeth* No…that can’t be what’s going to happen! It doesn’t make any sense! Solaris you are the god of the sun! Controller of time! *slams her hands against the tower’s edge* I don’t get it! Even with the power of the chaos emeralds how do those hedgehogs stand a chance against you?! Please forgive me— but what is wrong with you, Solaris?! Where is your great power Mephiles told me about?! Solaris’ arm raises, then one of his crystalline fingers lowers towards Nova’s head. Being merely an insect compared to Solaris’ size she trembles at the thought of his touch, but it only hovers above her. Visions of the Duke of Soleanna’s experiments on the small white flame of Solaris flood her mind, then she sees as the being is forcibly split into Iblis and Mephiles, before an explosion overtakes the lab under the castle. Nova: ! W-wait…does that mean…? Huh? A white light swirls from Solaris, weaving around his arm, then downward until it surrounds Nova, forming spinning rings around her. The immense power surrounding her stirs a memory. Mephiles: *staring at Nova* Unlike the humans who foolishly thought such a power was meant for them…you are one of the few living beings throughout time that is able to receive and survive the power of Solaris’ blessing. Nova: …I am? But why? Mephiles: Thanks to the human who created your Father, through him you possess a connection to Solaris. *points at her* Because of this, you are unaffected by any alterations to the past, present, or future. No change can be made to time that could alter you, or cause you to cease to exist. Nova: ! *her eyes glisten in awe* That’s amazing! So you’re saying…? Mephiles: When Solaris is restored, you will be offered the blessing. The power to move through time…and manipulate it at your will. With it, you can restore your parents’ lives, and change the past to bring about a new world, where you may live with them in peace forever…if that is what you desire. Nova: *a wide grin forms on her face as her tail wags* Mephiles: But to retain this blessing…you cannot only use it for your own gain. You must first and foremost use it in service of Solaris. Nova: What does that mean? What use would Solaris have for me once it is restored? Mephiles: *slowly begins to turn away* You will know…if that time will come to pass. As the memory fades, Nova returns to the present, and holds out her hands. The white light weaves between her fingers. Nova: Mephiles must have realized it was possible the damage done by the humans was greater than he originally thought. *looks up at Solaris again* You aren’t able to achieve your perfect form, are you? Is that it? If so…then what can I do to help? Solaris is silent as he looms over her. Nova thinks, then peers back at the swirls of light. She seems to come to an understanding with the god, then takes in a deep breath, and stretches out her hands in acceptance. The white light comes together to make a large arrow above her…and it shoots straight for the collie. The sharp power pierces Nova’s chest as it enters her. Nova: ARGH! *grips her chest and the cloth of her shirt, and nearly collapses from the agony. She gasps for air, but chokes on her breathes as her head lowers back down to the platform of the tower.* The bell rings a third time. Something floods her chest, then moves throughout her body, but the further it spreads, the emptier and lighter Nova feels herself become. Her entire life flashes before her eyes, then a firm grip takes a hold of her. Nova’s vision goes dark, and the bell tower breaks apart beneath her, sending her falling through the void.
