As of currently, Portugal sits at a population of 9.4 million people. This is ~9.9% less than in 2023, 50 years prior! Because of this, the Portuguese president has launched a campaign to try and get people to have more children. He would create government sponsored adds to encourage recently-married people to have children, so that the population can increase.
The president of Portugal anticipates that this will increase the declining population to atleast a 25% increase, to around 11.75 million people by 2100, though this doesn't seem likely.
