Bobtail is a mutation unrelated to manx syndrome, ranging from a normal length tail with a slight kink, or a full pompom. unlike manx syndrome (which is different, and has much more detrimental effects) bobtails do not seem to have any detriment to the cat. http://messybeast.com/bobtail-cats.html
