~ tidalpaw care guide ~ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ▸ I've done some research and observations while I take care of Isla, and I've noticed some very important care-related things, so obviously, for every future Tidalpaw caretaker, I've made a guide. Enjoy, and be sure to read this through before adopting one! And remember, every spirit is different, don't just go off of my experiences with Isla. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ~ DIET ▸ I've noticed Isla drinking out of my dogs' water bowl, drinking out of my sink, and more, and I didn't think much of it until I noticed her acting much more energetic afterwards. I now know that they don't need food, but they do need water! Just one or two water bowl's worth of water should be good per day. You can know how hydrated they are by the size of their small, floating water droplets that float around their bodies. Small ones that are about the size of peas mean that your Tidalpaw is dehydrated, and you should lead it to the nearest source of water, medium-sized ones that are the size of slightly large berries mean it is perfectly hydrated, and tennis-ball sized droplets mean it is overhydrated, and you shouldn't give it any more water. Also, don't worry about giving your Tidalpaw fresh water, I saw Isla drinking pool water when I first met her at the pool, and she was perfectly fine! Tidalpaws can actually purify water that go inside of their bodies, so they can drink anything, meaning yours can take a quick sip from the ocean if you want! Isla definitely seems very clever and good at adapting, which is why I trusted her to be on her own for about a week around my house, getting used to her new surroundings - she immediately found the sink, which she was able to leap up to and turn on! Definitely make sure your Tidalpaw knows where the main sources of water are in your house, so they can get water whenever! Oh, and, they still eat food, though it's just for bonding. They like the taste of seafood especially, as well as most juicy meats such as chicken, and berries. If you want, you can also give them drinks such as Gatorade, juice, soda, etc., although those are more like rare treats! If you want to give them something like that, usually give them Gatorade or electrolyte drinks, the electrolytes are good for them! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ~ SLEEP SCHEDULE ▸ I've noticed Isla waking up around 9:00 AM and going to sleep around 10:30-11:00 PM, so Tidalpaws are definitely night owls. One of the reasons why may be because they seem to enjoy dark, cool places (although they enjoy sunshine too!), and I've seen her curled up at the foot of my bed near the fan. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -~ PREFERRED ACTIVITES ▸ Not sure what to do with your Tidalpaw in your free time? I've noticed some things Isla seems to really like, here's a list! I haven't found many, but here are all of them so far: ▸ SWIMMING ~ obviously. kind of self-explanatory ▸ GAMES ~ they seemed to enjoy puzzles and games, leading me to think her species is probably kind of competitive. she especially likes logic games/puzzles, though that might be just an individual opinion. ▸ PLAYING OUTSIDE ~ don't just keep your tidalpaw inside - i've seen her materialize outside by choice lots, and really likes running around - eir pretty playful! make sure to have a relatively large yard or field for your tidalpaw to play in. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ~ WHERE TO FIND THEM? ▸ I believe they may come from an area I've done previous research on...Solaqua Isle. A hidden ocean paradise with a beautiful, tropical island, the ideal habitat for Tidalpaws. Something...must have driven them out. But what...or...who...? Anyways. I believe that the species have all materialized away from their paradise to Earth, using up much of their power as they went so far...They obviously want something close to their previous home, so therefore you'll find them in water anywhere, could be in a bathtub, a shower, or larger things, like a pool, pond, lake, creek, river, or ocean!...*sigh* yes...I suppose toilets too... When they materialize, again, using up much of their power as they went so, so, SO far, so you'll always see them exhausted and sometimes stressed as well. Be sure to calm them down and give them space to rest! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ~ WHAT ARE THEY LIKE? + BONDING ▸ Tidalpaws are pretty simple to care for, being relatively independent as needs such as water, cleaning, and more they do themselves. However, they can be mistrustful and anxious around new caretakers, so give them around a week to settle in, then begin bonding with them and taking extra time to hang out with them. Eventually, they'll become much more calm and (Continued in N+C)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (Continued) happy around you, following you around without being asked to and more. You can bond with yours by feeding them, doing activities together, and simply just finding more about them and providing a safe sanctuary for them. However, as the ocean does, I've noticed Isla having sudden mood shifts, suddenly shifting between cheerful and calm to anxious, darting away from me randomly. Ey haven't been aggr3ssive yet, but every spirit is different, so watch out for any Tidalpaws who are aggr3ssive. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ▸ OBSERVATIONS (I'll add more later) ~ Once, I bumped into Isla, but she simply...went through me. Now that I think of it, I've seen her go through other people and objects before, and now I know she, and other Tidalpaws, can easily walk through things! ~ One time Isla had taken a little tumble and got a bit bruised. Later, we went to the pool, and her bruises completely went away! Tidalpaws can be healed completely by getting in water, so no wonder they loved living in the ocean! They basically couldn't get injured... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ▸ That's it for this guide, thank you for reading this to help the species of Tidalpaws! ~ Signed, Wave (btw, this is part of the Scratch spirit system, if you don't know what it is, I'll be happy to help! gtg tho)
