Otterstar's Prophecy Otterkit wriggled and squirmed under his mothers warm tongue. He could not see and all he could smell was his mothers sweet cent and he felt along her belly to find what he was looking for, Food! He drank until he was not hungry and curled up by his mother. He put his little soft tail on his nose and went to sleep. Otterkit woke to the sound of other cats. he lifted his head and for the first time heard his mothers voice."Oh my sweet Otterkit your awake! He felt her warm lick between the ears and he began to purr."My kits were way fluffier but he is pretty cute. Otterkit did not know that voice."Know Moonlight Otterkit is my first kit and I think he is perfect, Oakshade will be very pleased to see his son! "Yes yes of course,"Moonlight said I suppose. Otterkit squirmed and twisted trying to get comfortable but he felt hot with embarrassment. He then felt very tired and curled up his tail over his nose and drifted to sleep. Five days had passed and Otterkit had opened his eyes. The first thing he had seen was his mother. She was a tan cat with very fluffy fur and light blue eyes. He had craned his neck to see if he had her fur but he had his fathers dark brown pelt with dark stripes and green eyes. His mother had said that he had her fluffy fur. Otterkit had also learned that he had two other den mates though he did not like them. He did not like Tigerkit or Echokit because they were always bragging about how they were older and how they would be better then him always. Which the truth was they would always be bigger then him but better? Otterkit had also seen the outside once but he did not want to go out again. It hurt his eyes and he was comfortable inside the familiar walls of the nursery. Tigerkit and Echokit were almost always outside but that was because they were a whole moon older then him. Otterkit trotted over to Leafpelt and sat down beside her."Why aren't you playing with the other kits? Otterkit looked down at his paws."They always boss me around and tell me I am to small to play with them and I don't want to go outside. Leafpelt rapped her tail round him but Otterkit had found a feather to play with."You will always be my perfect little Otterkit,"she had said. Otterkit began to purr. He knew that he had everything he ever needed here in this moment for him to be happy and content. His mother was his best friend. Just then Tigerkit and Echokit burst into the nursery yowling at each other. "I will always be able to beat you in a fight anyway,"Tigerkit said."No you won't! Echokit lunged at Tigerkit but he shoved her so that she toppled into Otterkit. She was bigger so she pushed him into the ground. "Leafpelt grabbed Echokit and put her by her brother and then grabbed Otterkit and placed him back on his feet."Are you ok Otterkit?"I'm o...He's fine! Moonlight was licking one paw and looking with amusement at her kits."Well if you were actually paying attention to your kits then Otterkit would not be at risk of being squished! Moonlight stopped licking her paw and glared at Leafpelt My kits are perfectly able to not be watched! Moonlight was about to go on but they heard a yowl from outside."Dovestar is calling a clan meeting. Its the night of the gathering. Leafpelt grabbed Otterkit and put him in their nest."Stay here I will be back in a few minutes ok, try to sleep, She licked him between the ears and pushed her way out of the den. Otterkit curled up but did not close his eyes. Tigerkit and Echokit came to the entrance of the den and listened to Dovestar. Otterkit rolled his eyes and turned so that his back faced both of them and sleep finally came. Otterkit woke up to the sounds of Tigerkit and Echokit's play fighting. Otterkit got up and began to groom himself but then he realized that Leafpelt was gone. He ran over to the entrance to the den taking care he didn't get hit by the two kits loud game. Otterkit poked his head out of the den and saw Leafpelt sitting by Oakshade. Otterkit sighed. He did not like being outside but he guessed today would be a good day to explore the camp. He walked slowly out of the den and squinted his eyes against the Sun lights beaming glare. He soon adjusted to the brightness and started trotting over to Leafpelt. She stopped talking to Oakshade and smiled at him. Oakshade turned his head and smiled at Otterkit."Hello son,"He said. Oakshade's voice was powerful and deep. "H...Hi Oakshade. Otterkit was a bit scared of his father but a warm smile from Leafpelt made him feel less scared."So you have decided to come out of the nursery,"Leafpelt said. Otterkit nodded. He sat beside his mother for a long time and then decided to look around. He trotted over to a huge den that smelled of many different cats
