To be clear this rant is about people who try to turn autism into a trend and get mad when autistic people don’t fit that box that people outside of our community decided to come up with, this is obviously NOT mocking autistic people or saying that they’re weird or anything !! I’m sharing MY experience as an autistic person “I’m not ableist!!” And then my dad makes fun of my special interest and my ways of thinking lol be so fr ableism is so rooted in society people don’t even notice it anymore like the whole meme of “people who are fans of this don’t take showers” which I’m almost sure originates from neurodivergent people being invested in their special interest and they forget to take care of themselves which is something I struggle with and the meme honestly makes me hate myself so much
