For those of you who don't know, this project is about another project I made yesterday, where I shared my beliefs as a Presbyterian Christian when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community. The comment section I saw was one of the most respectful and loving spaces I have ever seen on the internet, where people of all beliefs and faiths were discussing disagreements kindly. Im so grateful to all of you. Unfortunately, it did get taken down. I have some inkling as to why it did get taken down, and I can think of some valid reasons, (which i will fix once the project comes back up), but im assuming it was also mostly because of people who simply disagreed. To those people I say : "if you disagree, please just comment about it. Nobody will ridicule you or yell at you for anything you say, (or atleast I wont), and it's much better for all of us to openly discuss our opinions than to press a button out of spite" But speaking of spite... I do have a bone to pick. On the project are very blurry pictures of the warnings I got. The very first, about my project being not appropriate, I already addressed. The second one is the one I dont think is fair. This one is a message reported my comment on @GazerOfStars profile, saying something along the lines of "Hi star! I made this project that's basically a brain dump of my thoughts on the LGBTQ+ community as a Christian. I understand you mgiht not share the same beliefs as me, (there are a lot of different denominations) bht i wanted to talk to asisyer in Christ about this" And then i get reported for "telling somebody their identity/ beliefs are wrong"!? Seriously ST? I literally said in that message that I understand that Star might not share the same opinions as me? What gives? Me saying the word "Christian"?? Also what do you mean "don't make comments about saying it's not ok to have an identity based in religion"? What im saying is literally that I HAVE an identity in being Christian, so that accusation makes no sense at all! Are you saying im ridiculing myself? The other warnings talk about how I was being critical towards other beliefs and orientations. After trying so hard to make my message as respectful as possible, it breaks my heart that some people still took it the wrong way. Im really sorry to everyone who got offended my my project. Im also sorry for this kind of rant, ST, since I know it's hard to keep track of a bunch of reports every day. But please, be more careful, sometimes your regulations can have an opposite effect, and people could be scared to share about their beliefs on Scratch. That's all, bye everyone!
TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO REPORT THIS PROJECT: "please, comment about what part of this project made you feel uncomfortable, so i can fix it in the future. Please don't report just because you disagree. That's not right." Thank you @GazerOfStars and everyone of all beliefs who commented on my previous project, your comments made me understand things a lot more clearly and also helped me feel heard. :)
