Waves and Respect: My entry Story: The Watery Race Brego was racing like the wind. We were racing Poseiden through a storm and it was raining hard and fast. Brego was going as fast as he could, but the waves were strong and Poseidon was soon far ahead. We were racing on when we saw a flash of bright green under the water. Adept and eye on the black figures that seemed to get closer every second. Suddenly,we heard an ear-splitting screech.Brego reared up and I was so surprised I fell into the water. The black shapes were eels and they were swarming around me and little sparks of electricity were coming from their backs. I know that these were not normal electric eels I had read about them and knew they screamed and ate humans and anything else they could find. I knew they were going to attack and kill me. I was not sure what to do. I was not sure that there was anything to do. But Brego did. He reared up and hit his hooves hard on the eel that was closest to me. Then he kicked out strongly at the other eels. The eels backed away but would not give up. I took my chance and jumped on Brego’s back. He began to swim and soon got us away from the eels. We were pretty far behind Poseidon and were hoping to catch up when a dark shape appeared on the horizon. When we came closer we saw it was a large black octopus with glittering red eyes. We were not afraid. We took up to the octopus and glared at it so hard it seemed to realize we were not going to leave. The monster looked at us but did not make a move of attack. Brego and I took our ground and waited. Then suddenly the octopus grabbed Brego by the legs and dragged him under. I instinctively jumped off Brego but I would not leave him to drown.I took out my knife and slashed at one of the tentacles around Brega’s leg. I cut it and the octopus shrieked with rage. I kept cutting the tentacles till the octopus swam away, rage still glinting in its eyes. Brego nuzzled me saying “Thank you” as best he could. I hugged him and told him I was glad he was safe. We then saw that Poseidon had gone out of sight. I got on Brego and we began again. Soon we saw a figure ahead. It was Poseidon. He looked at us and said,”you are slow. I arrived 3 hours ago. But I’m impressed with the bond that you have with each other.” Then Poseidon smiled and faded away into the sea. THE END~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
