ⓦⓞⓡⓓⓢ Words are all around us They’re in our every day lives From the moment we wake up To the moment we rest People don’t notice them But they’re always there They’re dancing over our heads Waiting for someone to see them To capture them And turn them into something beautiful Most people think I’m hallucinating when I tell them So I don’t open up anymore I eat alone, Watch movies alone, Except I’m never alone I have my words to keep me company Sometimes I take a few words The ones I relate to The ones that represent me And turn them into poetry “Dread” and “Ache” “Sorrow” and “Pain” Most of them are depressing But not all of them “Hope” and “Laughter” “Peace” and “Silence” There’s one word I’ve never been able to capture though One that I’ve never seen before No matter how hard I try to find it “Love” I can never find it despite how much I yearn for it It’s not in the place I call home Not with the people who call themselves my “friends” It’s never appeared Well it never appeared Not until you came along And from the moment I first saw you I knew this word was not going to be easy to let go
haiii this is a random idea i got in bed inspired by the book “a snicker of magic” where the main character Felicity is a word catcher. hope you enjoy this poem! <3
