PROLOGUE: Years ago, Wanrudiyu was a peaceful land. people lived in harmony, not caring what a stupid card symbol on their tail meant, or what color eyes they had. Till one day, a strange man and his followers came. He wore a cape, spades all over him. His name was Spade. He claimed himself as God, and if anyone didn't believe him- he'd publicly torture them till their end. Nobody had any reason to believe him, nor did they have a reason to not believe him. There was no structured religion, sure there were the native languages (Mandarin and Cantonese), and the arts, but no God or Gods. people bent to his will, because if they didn't, they would die. Then started the Spade dynasty. Spade split the people up into 3 groups (excluding Spade, which was royalty/the Spade family). The lowest caste was diamonds, seen as the weakest. Before the conquest, they usually worked as artists or farmers. After Spade took over, they either got killed. But, if they were very lucky, they were enslaved. Hearts were the lower-middle class. Before Spade conquered Wanrudiyu, they were traders and peaceful explorers, making friends from different regions of Wanrudiyu. They studied the environment and how to be at peace with it. After the conquest, they became small buisness owners, or what we see as the workforce. They could join the military, but usually never got any further than a soldier. Clubs were the highest class a citizen could be. Some Clubs descendants were Spades original followers. If the Clubs ancestors were on Wanrudiyu before the conquest, their ancestor more than likely was a trader or merchant. A Club now would more than likely be a CEO or a high ranking military official. When Spade (the false god-emperor) died- his son Senyuu took the throne. He claimed his father went back to heaven (or Paradaisu in their culture) since things were finally back on track. In the time period our story is, the current empress is Rose Spade. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART 1: I sat down on my bed in the crowded room. "You chose this. YOU DID THIS AYA." The voices in my head told me. It wasn't a voice, it was me. My name is Aya Naramoto. I am a Diamond in disguise, if anyone, and I mean ANYONE- ever finds out I'm a Diamond instead of a Heart, my head will be paraded on a stick down the main-street of Xingjing (A/N; Wanrudiyu's capital). I decided to disguise myself as a Heart and join Spades army. When I joined, I planned on exposing my identity and showing these Clubs and Hearts how strong a weak "Diamondling" can be. But, now? I wouldn't expose my identity for nunthin. I wouldn't for a billion Yuyizis (Wanrudiyu currency). I sat on my bed, smelling all the other soldiers. The room reeked of sweat, and the room was filled with laughter, whispers, and snorting. "hey," I heard someone say. I look up, seeing a girl with long pink hair looking at me. She was obviously a heart. "lunch's in 30. may wanna get a change of clothes." I get up, I couldn't tell if she was being kind or rude. When I do the walk of shame down the aisle, I hear laughing, whispering, murmurs about "diamonds". I always have to be on alert. It seemed easy to disguise myself as a Heart. But, no. Generals say my strength is unusual for any caste, especially a Heart. Some are suspicious, some are amazed, some are scared. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(3 months ago)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Madam?" I hear a pesky Club say to me. "Call me Rose, hun. No need to be so polite, its SICKENING." I reply in a rude-ish voice. Before he speaks up again, I notice he's a general. Today was Report Day, where they report the average statistics for a Heart soldier. How many people on average a heart could kill in 30 minutes, their fighting skills, and all that. Nobody ever comes to me personally. "I have... A deformity, if you will." he said in a timid voice, obviously terrified to report THIS. "All right, hit it at me." "I have a soldier, her name is Aya Naramoto. On the surface, shes amazing. She's strong, talented- but, her strength- its unusual for any caste. Rumors are going around that shes a... Diamond." I paused. If she was a Diamond- this would prove that Diamonds were strong. They were powerful. It would mess up the caste system, our beliefs, our traditions! He handed me her folder. I hit him across the face with it, as he fell backwards. "GET OUT NOW YOU CLUB SCUM BEFORE I END YOU INFRONT ALL YOUR COLLUAGES." The club ran out. I need to investigate this by myself. Handle this like how my ancestor, Spade would. ~~~~~~~~~~~~(Back to present day)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I put on my casual clothes and left the women's locker room, heading to the cafeteria. When I went in, I got an order of Sweet and Sour chicken and Vegetable Lo Mein. As I walked to an empty table, I heard people whispering. "I heard shes a Diamond!" "I heard she was a Spade?!" PART 1 CONTINUATION: I ignore them. If I keep telling myself I'm a Heart, I'll believe it. I sit down and eat my noodles. When I take a bite of my first piece of chicken, the intercom turns on. "AYA NARAMOTO TO THE TRAINING YARD. I REPEAT, AYA NARAMOTO TO THE TRAINING YARD." A scared, but stern voice said. All eyes turned to me. I blushed, as a loud "Ooohhhhh" emitted from the crowd. I got up, turned in my dishes, and walked to the training yard. I finally got out, and in front of me was... ROSE SPADE?!?! "Hey, sweetheart. What's a doll like you doing in MY army?" I blush. Is she trying to flirt or threaten me? "Unresponsive, eh? Oh well, hun." She says kindly, she does a 'mphm', and continues. "I came here just for you to give you a special message." "Not every tadepuren (A/N: wanrudiyus native species) is the same. Y'know? You're either a heart, club, or like me, a spade. Or, you're the lowest of the low... A Diamond. Now, Aya. Where do YOU fall on that system?" I pause. Does she know. DOES she know. Does SHE know. Does she KNOW. DOES SHE KNOW. "Because, I know." She aggressively ripped out my contacts, revealing my true identity. Then, she ripped my fake Heart symbol off my tail, revealing my Diamond. "I knew it. You are... THAT THING." I shudder. "Get out of my planet. I want you gone by tomorrow, or you will get the fate your other Diamond friends got." ------------------------(2 hours later)------------------------------- I boarded the planetary space bus at the Xingjing station. I wore a old black hoodie, and I grabbed my laptop out of my bag to research places to escape to. Then it clicked. I should go to Earth. I've loved human culture since I was a little diamond, so why not move there. I exit the bus at the next spot, and I take the next bus to the Xingjing-Interplanetary airport. I booked a ticket to Mars, and from there I will use a rental space ship to get to Earth. Perfect. Maybe, just maybe, my life will be normal now.
