Happy Pride Month, everyone! - - - So June has once again rolled around, and this month is especially important to me personally because it is a time for me to remember my own growth as a queer person <3 So enjoy this cute little pride photo while I give a little story time! I would like to add that I love respectful debate, so if you have any controversial topics that seem to disagree with mine, please give me what you think! As long as things remain respectful (on both ends) I'm always happy to discuss my opinions and listen to yours. - - - So I grew up in and still do live in a very Catholic environment. My parents, my extended family, the majority of people that influenced me every day were and are still Catholic. And so up until I was around 13-14, I was Catholic too, and I still am technically baptised. So naturally, after years of being exposed to the religion and going to Catholic school all my life, I find myself relatively well-versed in Catholic/Christian beliefs, and with that, I find a lot of things to be too inexplicable to warrant believing in them. I think while the concept of religion, specifically Christianity, itself is not inherently bad (although I do find it strange that anyone can believe in it), the modern interpretation of the traditional teachings has wildly gone off course. Anyways, eventually I started asking "too many" questions, and with time I grew to reject Christianity entirely. I used to be homophobic, transphobic, and "pro-life", and now I've gone in the complete opposite direction. And I strongly believe that because of this, my life has changed for the better, much more so then when I was "with God". I have many points to back up my belief that religion is a man-made concept and is not rooted in truth, so please if you want to, comment on why you think otherwise! I have grown so much as a person in the past few years, even coming to realise that I am bisexual. So happy pride month to all those people like me that managed to break away from oppressive beliefs and get one step closer to finding their true selves <3 Happy pride month everyone! - - - Galaxy & Comet: @CloudyEcho Rider Base: @MythtopianPegasus - - -
