Title: Epic loud motor! 2010 Oakland (Ref. Bimo Lifts) hydraulic lift... Brand: Oakland Excelsior. Year: 2010. Refurbished by Bimo Lifts in May 2026. Type: Twin piston roped hydraulic with MR at floor 0. Logic: Cord Controls MicroSmart PLC controller. Capacity: 1600 kg or 21 persons. Floors: 5 (0 to 4). Fixtures: Square Dewhurst + unknown red dot-matrix display (Now round Dewhurst + ACME 16-segment display). Motor: Leistritz submersible pump with Blain EV100 valve. Speed: 1 m/s. Doors: Fermator. Starter type: Star-delta. Voice: Stentorgate (Now Daniel UK TTS). Maintenance company: Bimo Lifts. Location: Undisclosed block of flats, Thornwick Grove, ST. Here we come to a nice block of flats which opened on October 10th of 2010. It's got a rather meh Oakland lift, but it's got an epic loud motor! Sadly, it has been badly refurbished by Bimo Lifts in May 2026 with a new and rather boring stainless steel interior, new fixtures, new voice and a very annoying audio player which keeps on repeating the "Bimo rolls, Bimo spins" song which is both cringe and irritating! Interestingly enough, this Oakland also has Fermator doors instead of Wittur/Selcom. And before the mod, it also had kinda rare Stentorgate floor announcements which "Level 0, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4". The lift logic is still original and it's not efficient. Takes a bit of time to startup, takes 4 seconds to level and there is no pre-doors. So, yeah, it's pretty mediocre. On the plus side, this lift does have 2 hydraulic pistons and a chassis. The fire alarm in this building is a Simplex 4100U voice evac system with white TrueAlert speaker strobes and remote strobes. The HVAC system is a very nice and reliable Mitsubishi system from 2010.
