Total time: 4 hours 54 minutes App: ibisPaintX Device: Phone Tools: Stylist, digitalization from sketchbook IRL ____________________ ❝ If Scorchlight is a blazing inferno, then Kia is a swirling storm. And who knows who her kits will take after more? ❞ ➻❥ Introduction: Hello! I have never hosted a litter before, and I'm very excited for this to be my first. Scorchlight is a 30-ish moon old she-cat who recently joined SkyClan. This will be her first litter, but they are not biologically hers. Rather, they are her nephews and niece, born of her estranged sister and adopted by her. Scorchlight is usually pretty sarcastic and rough around the edges, but she has always had a soft spot for kits and she will love these ones fiercely as if they are her own. ➻❥ Backstory: After Kia ran away from home and never returned, Scorchlight eventually came to the conclusion that her older sister had perished, whether due to sickness or a predator or the elements. Because if she had still been alive, she would have come back to save the rest of them... Right? Only, when Scorchlight finds Kia's scent, fresh and healthy, over two kits left at the border, she is faced with the realization that Kia *had* been alive the entire time, and even known where Scorchlight was, too. And she just... hadn't cared. At least, not until she had to dump her own kits that she didn't care for. Scorchlight, mixed with fury, hurt, and worry for the kits, hurriedly takes them back to SkyClan camp, only for the two to tell her that Kia left their little brother behind because he was too weak and she couldn't carry all three. Leaving Stone and Cloud (as Kia named them) in the nursery, Scorchlight rushes back into the forest to find the last kit, just as the sky above breaks out into a torrential downpour. It seems as if the entire earth is shaking at each crash of thunder as lightning lights up the forest in blinding white. The wind howling and screeching above her, Scorchlight follows Kia's scent as quickly as she can, knowing that the rain will wash it all away. Until, finally, after more than an hour of searching, she finds the little runt of the litter, Branch, sick with pneumonia and out in the rain, weakly trying to find where his siblings and mother went. She takes him back to camp and immediately to the Medicine Den, where he begins his treatment. Small note: Kia only drops the kits off after they've been weaned, meaning that they will start off at 2 moons of age, and they will remember Kia. Scorchlight will try to make up for Kia's rejection by being the best stand-in mother she can be, but the kits will probably have some trauma regarding their negligent birth mother, which you can explore/explain how you will expand upon in your application! ➻❥ Rules: - No AI!! - There is no age limit you need to keep the kit alive for, but if you win a kit, please don't go inactive (hiatuses are totally fine though!). I would rather the kit die in-rp than for you to just go inactive and for myself to have to make up some reason for the kit passing away. (Of course, it's much preferable if the kit just doesn't die tho lol) - You can edit the designs slightly, but keep them somewhat recognizable - Please remix for your application (or if you do a forum pls link it) - You can apply for more than one kit! - Just be a nice person :> ➻❥ Schedule: - 6/22/26: Litter opens to applications! - 7/22/26: Applications closed - 7/29/26: Results!
