Chapter Five: Officer Down LINK’S POV: We drove trying to find Ganon. "Where did he go?" I muttered, turning onto another dead-end street. Something caught my eye, a man with bright red hair in an ally. "I think I found him," I whispered, slowing the car and quietly getting out. Zelda got out and pulled her gun close to her side. "Ready?" she whispered. I nodded, seeing Ganon. "Police! Hands up!" I yelled pulling my gun out. Ganon turned to us and smirked. He laughed wildly, pulling out a gun. Bang. I stumbled back and Zelda shot at Ganon. "Stop!" She yelled as her bullet grazed his leg. He stumbled but kept running. I coughed up blood. 'W-what! N-no! Did it get through my vest?!' I thought crumbling to the ground. "No! Crap!" Zelda's voice echoed as she knelt beside me. "G-go after him!" I yelled, coughing more blood. I got more dizzy by the second. My eyes blurred, I could barely breathe. How did the bullet get through? How did it hit my lung? "You're gonna be just fine! The medics are on their way, just stay awake!" Zelda's voice echoed. I tried to listen, but my eyes couldn't stay open. ZELDA'S POV: Link fell limp in my arms. "No! Stay with me! Link! Wake up! Please!" I screamed, as the medics arrived. The loaded him in the ambulance and sped to the hospital. I looked at the blood on my dress and threw up. "Holy Hylia," I muttered, wiping my mouth, walking to the car. I called the captain and told him what happened. He told me to head back to the station and tell Link's family what had happened. I put my phone in my pocket and paused. 'Blood, I have blood on me, I'll have to cover it,' I thought looking around. I saw Link's police jacket in the back seat and grabbed it. I slipped it on and it was giant. "Wow, it's giant," I whispered, closing the car door and locking the car. I walked to the station and saw his sister. "Hey, where's Link? Why are you wearing his jacket?" Aryll asked, looking worried. I looked down. "H-he was shot," I whispered, showing her the blood on my dress. She covered her mouth and took a step back. "W-will he be okay?" she asked. Tears entered my eyes as I shook my head. "W-we should get to the hospital," Aryll sniffled. "Y-yeah," I whispered, getting a text from Captain. Captain: ᴡᴇ'ʟʟ ᴛᴀᴋᴇ ʟɪɴᴋ's ᴄᴀʀ ʙᴀᴄᴋ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ sᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ Zelda: ᴀʟʀɪɢʜᴛ, ɪ'ᴍ ʜᴇᴀᴅɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ ᴛᴏ sᴇᴇ ʜᴏᴡ ʟɪɴᴋ ɪs ᴅᴏɪɴɢ Captain: ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ᴛᴇʟʟ ᴍᴇ ʏᴏᴜ'ᴠᴇ ɢʀᴏᴡɴ ғᴏɴᴅ ᴏғ ʜɪᴍ, ᴢ Zelda: ɴᴏ! ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴛᴀᴋɪɴɢ ғᴀᴍɪʟʏ Captain: ᴀʟʀɪɢʜᴛ We got in Aryll's car and she asked, "Do you actually like my brother?" I was shocked at the question. "W-what?! I barely know him! We only agreed to this because it got us into the wedding to catch Ganon!" I replied. Aryll laughed a bit. "You sure?" she asked, glancing at me. "W-what is that suppose to mean?! Shouldn't you be worried about your brother!" I asked, confused. Aryll smiled, "He's stronger then he seems, he'll be okay. After everything in his life he's always bounced back. Just don't break his heart. He doesn't trust people that often." I nodded and looked at his jacket. I sighed and covered my face in it, hiding my tears.
