Operation Vajra Shakti was a highly successful counter-terrorist mission executed by India's National Security Guard (NSG) to resolve the Akshardham Temple siege in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Launched immediately following a deadly assault by heavily armed terrorists on September 24, 2002, the primary objective was to neutralize the attackers and protect civilians trapped within the sprawling complex. The elite NSG Task Force divided into specialized squads to systematically clear the large open areas and structures of the temple. In a fierce close-quarter battle, the commandos successfully eliminated both terrorists by the morning of September 25.
