- Will o' Wisp Acres Updates - - Update 55 | Jumping Dream - - - - Although originally we were intending to have Dream be a cross country jumper, he seems to have excelled more in the more technical aspects of showjumping. Dream isn't the most balanced horse, so having uneven footing on a track is just a disadvantage for him. So, today, I set up the arena with some pretty high jumps to see how he goes! After a quick warmup, we trotted around the edge of the arena to the first line of jumps - two jumps with a ground pole in between each to encourage Dream to pick his feet up (he has a habit of almost dragging them). He flew over the first jump, but stumbled a little on his footing because of the pole and so took the second jump a bit quicker and ended up over jumping. I slowed down to a trot so he could calm down a bit before we circled back to take the two other jumps. These didn't have anything between them which I think he liked better as he was much more confident in going over both jumps. Despite the setback, we went around the circuit a few more times and by the time the 45 minute mark had come around, we were both pretty tired and sweaty. I gave him a rinse to cool him down and let him back out into the pasture with his friends and refilled the water trough. Dream did really well today and ended up making some great progress, expect more updates in future on Dream's journey as a show jumper! - - - Dream: @Blue_Frosting- Jumps: @Dontay13 Rider Base: @MythtopianPegasus Background, Tack & Rider Adjustments: @Stxrry-Nightz- - - -
