It is a well known fact that Voidia has advanced gravity manipulation technology. Its main form of FTL is the wormhole and for a short amount of time it even used gravity based shielding. However gravity manipulation at Voidias current energy level has its limits. The dimensional shields were in all honesty. Impractical. They consumed an absurd amount of energy and blinded ships. They were one of the least practical technologies Voidia had employed. Yet major breakthroughs in gravity manipulation technology have provided amazing results and may bring back gravity manipulation. A sort of renaissance for the tech field. The creation of gravity coils. Now. First things first gravity is technically just bent space time. The gravity that we feel is how much space time the earth affects thanks to its mass. Thus if you figure out a way to increase the mass of an object you have technically discovered gravity manipulation. Though more accurately you’ve technically just found a manipulable force. The main issue for gravity manipulation is that any possible gravitational manipulation will consume large quantities of energy (or mass). Gravity is the weakest force in nature the gravity we feel FEELS strong but that’s only because of the immense mass of our planet. Conventional gravity manipulation simply increases the energy density of an object to my knowledge (as increasing mass the normal way would just give you an artificial planet). Voidia simply uses this very same principle involved in gravity manipulation within coils. The concept is similar to a Kugelblitz. Also coils make sense. In electromagnetism, coiling wire intensifies the magnetic field inside the loop. Gravity coils looping energy intensifies the local spacetime curvature which is far more effective than whatever other people are doing. This break through has completely revolutionized Voidian technology. It has brought back many technologies believed impossible. Such as evenly distributing these coils around a ship hull to create precise gravity “barriers” that would theoretically be near impenetrable via conventional means. Even more absurd is the possibility to create even more efficient pocket dimensions (or more accurately universes but hey let me have my fun). Physically speaking the concept of how you make a pocket universe is simple: you simply bend spacetime so severely you cut a piece off. Gravity coils can do this in an even more efficient manner. But even more interestingly: these cut pockets of space could be put into a much smaller object essentially creating a mini-universe within a smaller object. Think of it like the TARDIS from that one really old show Doctor Who. Future Voidians could in theory live in boxes that on the outside look tiny but on the inside are as big as a mansion.The possibilities to weaponize are even more amazing. Allowing Voidia to store torpedoes more safely. It can be used to hold a full battalion of troops in a single drop pod (again in theory).
also note: I'd like to add that the tech is in its infancy we aren't putting pocket universes inside stuff yet. While the concept is theoretically "possible" in the sense that the equations don't strictly forbid it, but it requires physics we don't yet understand.
