This is not my response project, but it heavily related to it and the Dominion counter attacks, which begins with a great Battle for space superiority in the inner solar system. This proclamation is a political move by the Dominion, pointing out the "illegality" of the Caribbean attack, and offering the other Solar League nations and chance to maintain their fleets. For the situation for the Caribbean is dire. During the first Solar War, Star-Force barely had a presence in Sol, preparing to check and a looming gem invasion several thousand light years away. Since then however, the Dominion has been pushed back, closer and closer towards Sol and the near-sol systems. Thus, unlike last time, with the Gems a mere 60 light years away from Sol and both sides still fighting bitterly, Star-Force has an overwhelmingly large presence in Sol. Thousands of ships pass through the system daily, moving to the front. The Dominion maintains heavy control over the strategic asteroid belts and Oort cloud. Alongside established colonies on Pluto and its moon, Mercury, Mars, and of course earth. Alongside hundreds of nearby Dominion systems that can offer support. With the Caribbean fleets strung out across Sol, they would be caught like a deer in a spotlight the instant the first Phaser strike hit its mark. Thousands of Dominion ships, guarding strong fortifications across the system containing several billion troops in position to defend against the gems(As hinted for over a RP decade now, the Dominion invested heavily into its Sol fortifications, and concentrated a large amount of its forces here and in the surrounding systems.) Unlike last time, the Dominion can abuse its 200+ years worth of space-warfare experience and advancement against an earth power for this first time. there will be no repeat of the opening of the solar war..... No more holding back... Basically, there will be a massive battle for control over earth's orbit. And the Dominion is warning other nations of it. __________________________________________________________________________________________ This is also a turning point in the Dominion story-wise. A major ramp-up in its redemption arc, which was always hinted at from the very beginning. The cultural, social, and technological consequences of WW7, and GW2(which has become a multi-generational war) have fundamentally changed it. But the road to redemption will be long and hard, for the scars of its crimes still linger. Which only adds depth to the story :') Rushed panic-project cuz I haven't posted anything in a while-
