Prologue ??? 20 years ago The needle slides into the boy easily despite how much he thrashes and barks out in pain. His ankles are tied, his arms strapped down, a cloth in his mouth, his screams forced to never be heard. Large tubes sticking out of his neck connected to even larger machines, the needles attached nearly invisible. Two men watch him through a glass panel, lit by only torchlight drilled into the stone walls, a stark contrast to the advanced machinery around them. One of the men speaks into a microphone, his tone deep and rich with a soft accent. “Is the boy ready for extraction?” The boy lets out a muffled scream, tears already forming in his eyes, knuckles white and fingernails digging into the wood of the chair. “Yes sir.” “Well then, turn on the machine already." The man who injected the needles and tubes walks over to the huge machine, flipping levers and pulling switches, the device humming with life as the boy whimpers in fear. “Good, now leave him. The process should be done in a few hours.” The three men walk out of the room leaving the boy for what was supposed to be only a painful few hours. The boy’s hopeful, maybe they'd release him after they’re done with him. But it wasn’t only a few hours, no. Not just a couple days or months. But bleeding into two decades, to rot in that chair, the wood stretching and morphing around the man’s body he was forced to grow into. Surviving off the fluids they put into him and burning the calories through tiny shocks every hour by a cable that was attached into every single muscle and organ, actively forcing his muscles to flex, the cables keeping his body artificially fulfilled so he could never die—at least of natural causes, that is. 20 years of watching, 20 years of waiting, all for the right time to escape, or maybe for someone, something, to save him.
Srry for the late Prologue!! I decided to add it later. :/ Changed the prologue bc it didn't really have anything to do with the story :/
