I'll admit it's been a rough start to 2026. My grandpa spent Father's Day weekend in the hospital with a minor stroke, and there's talk of him having heart surgery. And yet in the midst of all of my fear and sadness, I am constantly drawn to Psalm 46: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea... He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” I've been struggling these last few days with some uncertainties and some paths I think God is calling me on even though it's nothing like I've ever planned or imagined, and it would be so much harder this way. Nevertheless, I wrote this song dedicating all my doubts and troubles to my Lord and Savior, praying for that 'peace that passes understanding' with great joy and expectation. Lyrics: God be my refuge, be my strength Be my reason to keep walking on this road On this path of darkness, be my light God be the fortress of my heart When the mountains fall into the sea There you will be, there you will be When the ground gives way beneath my feet There you will be, there you will be God be my refuge, be my strength You've already conquered sin and death Won't you take me to the river again When the kingdoms fall, give me peace When the mountains fall into the sea There you will be, there you will be When the ground gives way beneath my feet There you will be, there you will be When I sit beneath a withered tree There you will be, there you will be Feel like I'm sinking and there's no way left to breathe There you will be, there you will be, oh God I will be still so I can know you, I want to know you I want to see what you have done Lord, I want to see, Lord I want to live inside your refuge, in your peace God So take me in your arms Make me still so I can know you, so I can know you Help me see what you have done Lord, what you have done Lord Open my heart and be my refuge, be my refuge Take me in your arms God be my refuge, be my strength All I want is to be where you are Quiet my heart so I can hear your voice I will exalt you forevermore Quiet my heart so I can hear your voice I will exalt you forevermore I will exalt you forevermore
