Trail Ride with Aurora Small update After jumping Libby, I decided to take Aurora on a quick trail ride. Like Libby, we have mostly been working on one subject, dressage. Aurora is quite a wonderful mare, who's also a great ride, and so this is quite a different work than the last horse I rode! I'm planning to enter her in a dressage competition coming up and have been working hard to get good marks! Though I also need her perfectly relaxed at the comp, as she works best with a clear mind. So why not a fun relaxing trail! We went out for about 70 minutes - longer than I normally ride my horses, but we were mostly walking in a long rein. Wandering around, stopping to eat grass or look at something interesting, really fun! At one point when we quietly trotting when we came to a small XC jump and she decided to pop over it! It was quite surprising to me as I had been zooming out! Once we arrived back we had a quick rinse off (where I might or might not have gotten super drenched!
