I see a LOT of artists clown on their own artwork when I think it's really good! You can be good at art then, and even better at art now... two things can be true at once. See, I was not a beginner artist at 13. I was a beginner digital artist. I had been drawing digital from 2018-2019, but had lost all of my old work (and memories sadly) so I had to start over. I do have SOME recovered artwork from 2019 if you'd ever like to see it! But before digital, I had been drawing since I was 3. I would sit on the floor for hours and doodle across long strings of paper with colorful markers, creating worlds of characters for as a long as I could remember. I was the class artist in elementary school. It's hard for us as artists to remember how much joy our old art used to bring us... even if it makes us cringe now. Trust me, some of my old plots in my stories make no sense! But there's not much I wouldn't do to recover it all... even 8 years later.
