Nyx has trauma :p I THINK IM GONA MAKE HER MY MAIN OC?!?!?!?!?!????!!!!?!?!? lemme know plsplsplsplspls so, if you didn't rly understand what's happening, Nyx grew up in a heavily secured gov. facility, kinda like Area 51. she'd been there ever since she was found, so it was the only home she'd ever known. one of the scientists, Layla, was assigned as her caretaker. unlike everyone else who saw Nyx as a "subject," Layla treated her like an actual kid. she made sure Nyx was healthy, played with her, read to her, celebrated birthdays, all that. to Nyx, Layla wasn't a scientist....she was basically her mom. when Nyx reached the age of 4 yrs old (in human age), the gov. planned to officially introduce her to higher-ups. if everything went well, she'd finally be allowed to leave the facility under supervision instead of living locked away. it was supposed to be the biggest day of Layla's career. but before the presentation could happen, another alien managed to escape containment. unlike Nyx, it was aggressive and terrified. it tore through the facility, killing guards, scientists, and even other captured aliens while trying to escape. Layla tried to protect Nyx. she managed to shove Nyx out of the alien's way, but she was killed. before the creature left, it slashed across Nyx's cheek, leaving the scar she'd have for the rest of her life.
