Following the recent Soviet intervention and the deployment of "volunteer" forces to South Zamunda, widespread unrest has erupted across the country. The population has launched a large-scale revolt, with small but increasingly frequent skirmishes and firefights breaking out between local militias and Soviet volunteers. Public sentiment has turned sharply against the intervention, with one widely repeated slogan capturing the mood of the uprising: "We would rather face an enemy and die than face an enemy with the Soviets at our side." In response to the Soviet deployment, Teutonia has also intervened. A Teutonian Infantry Brigade and a Mechanized Infantry Brigade have landed at Port Urther and are now advancing toward the South Zamundan capital. Despite the rapidly deteriorating security situation, the South Zamundan dictatorship has thus far withheld the deployment of its national armed forces, fearing that a full military response would provoke severe international backlash and further devastate the country. Current casualty reports indicate that 10 Soviet volunteers have been confirmed KIA. South Zamundan guerrilla forces have suffered significantly heavier losses, with 49 fighters confirmed KIA and a further 12 reported MIA. Meanwhile, the CIFSZ has begun formal discussions regarding a full-scale intervention in South Zamunda. The coalition's stated objective is to expel Soviet forces from the country and establish a temporary CIFSZ-administered condominium over South Zamunda. According to officials involved in the talks, the provisional administration would remain in place until a suitable national leader can be identified and a stable government established.
