[click to zoom, click backdrop to switch] So, Rapunzel doesn't have an official birthday, but minimal digging has revealed three options according to the ~ i n t e r n e t ~ November 14 (the release date for the film), June 21 (the summer solstice), and May 12 (no idea what this is from). I drew a pencil birthday drawing in May, but didn't actually see many other artists drawing her that day so I didn't share it- I also didn't see much on Sunday so I guess people celebrate her birthday most commonly in November. Personally, I really like the idea that her birthday is the solstice (sun motifs and whatnot). Plus, it makes the most sense to me because of the "summer breeze" line in the movie. Anyway- I drew this marker piece today as a little celebration. (you can't see it but she's holding the Corona flag she got in the movie.) It turned out really good!! I'm not used to shading with markers so this is awesome. The pencil drawing I like slightly less, but honestly it's still quite good imo. I put a bird on her lantern because it's a really nice motif throughout the series and movie- the birds in her murals, the birds she paints during "set yourself free", the bird in her hair in S2, the bird episode. I just think they're a neat representation of her at various points throughout the story and her feelings regarding her freedom. So yeah! hope you like them! art by @imonlyhooman, zooming in code by @colorsnatch, character by Disney
