life is difficult. everyone is going through something. that's the truth. there are no exceptions. of course, it's vastly different for everyone. whether that's what's happening, how long its happening, and the objective intensity and the effect it has on you for the rest of your life. something that i've noticed recently (at least in my school community) is that people want bad things to be happening to them. because there are people turning it into a competition, invalidating others' struggles. this is not okay. even if what you're going through/went through is/was terrible⎯and it is⎯that gives you no right to make other people going through 'less' (more on that later) feel as if they're being dramatic or that they need to have gone through 'more' to have a *reason* to have mental struggles? there's just no logic. they're not at the top of it either, someone could say the same to them. you can't simply measure struggle either. there is no 'more' or 'less' when it comes to adversity. what matters is that it takes a toll on your mental health. you can't compare struggle, because everyone does at some point. it hurts, and the weight of that is what you should look at, not precisely the event itself (of course the event matters, don't throw that away, ykwim). for example⎯a concert got sold out. you were really looking forward to seeing this artist. that's devastating, of course. are your parents divorcing? are you being starved? (in this scenario,) no. but are your feelings valid? yes. absolutely. people should not be calling you dramatic or telling you that you're exaggerating, you were looking forward to this event and it didn't go how you planned. your feelings are valid. nobody else gets to determine that. please don't forget it <3 you are always welcome to talk to me, lmk if you want to go to a dead thread or smth, i'm right here. know that i am not a trained professional and cannot give you professional health due to this <3 resources ⎯⎯⎯ https://www.crisistextline.org/ | crisis hotline with text, call, and chat features https://988lifeline.org/ | same as above (survey required before entry) https://findahelpline.com/ | same as above two, except more worldwide & with a greater selection of options provided by @my-wxrld tysm daphne <3 tags⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ #mentalhealth #aescomm #2026 ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ if you ask, i will give a specific example from my experience <3 thank you for reading, please spread this! love + luck, ame <3 ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ song is carousel by laufey code by me
