I just watched a Disney movie called elemental And then i realized they needed steam engine how it works is the piston produceing steam from the funnel to the exaust pipes, and the exaust pipes blow steam which propells the engine, there is also swing-hinge doors on the locomotive's cab so the driver can get in, and they are sealed tightly, so that way no water can get into the cab, i might make a cab interrior
