╰┈➤ Young Traveler Poem ══════════════════════════════════ Young Traveler set upon the narrow path Seeking justice and answers he never had Leaving friends and family and beautiful Elodde At the place callled home He set upon foot, walking fast Trying not to think about the past The past of a few minutes back Or years ago when he was seated on his mother's lap He wished for quick answers He wished for Elodde He wished for fine pastries and beautiful clothes He wished for much, too much I say He wished for everything perfect, perfect in every way Though alas, his wishes did not come The forest grew uglier as he walked The wolves started to stir and light slipped away The threads of the night came his way He stopped to eat his old bread Stopped to sip on his water I say Stopped to rest his buckling knees Stopped to think about dear sister, Elodie And as his eyes drooped And his heart slowed His thoughts drifted off And he rested that night Wolves went for him Howling in anger 'how could you intrude our woods?' they howled to say Young Traveler in awoke in this flurry Screammd and ran away in a hurry The wolves were not fazed They caught up in a jiffy They snarled and roared and got ready to feast Until Wise Leader came, his fur gray and white 'give the boy a chance of life' The wolves howled in question and hunger Wise Leader gave them food and then gathered all 'Young Traveler why have you come?" 'To seek answers for my young' Wise Leader nodded as his wolves leaned 'ah' he told them, 'I see' He then smiled a wolfish grin and asked again 'what do you need from the wolf woods, young man?' Young Traveler told, quick and easy 'The secrets of the wolves' and the wolves got greedy They batted at his legs and snarled at his face Till Wise Leader stopped them with disgrace 'Are secrets are simple' he told Young Traveler 'We never ask for more then we need' 'A lesson of mankind, if they could understand' 'Do you, Young Traveler, wish for that?' But before Young Traveler could give his answer The wolves carried him out of the woods in anger 'Our feast is gone' they chanted And dumped his at Road in sadness and anger Young Traveler didn't wait around He just ran 'Elodde' he cried out as he pranced 'I have returned to you' he exclaimed in joy Only to see Home gone A simple note was on Elodde's bed 'You asked for too much, my dear, I'm dead' 'I was the price of your knowledge' 'Your family has moved away too, Elodie included' Young Traveler shrieked in pain, 'Elodde!' He wished for her back until dayfall That's when he saw Wise Leader outside He laughed and told him, 'prices alright' ══════════════════════════════════ ╰┈➤ By // Europa
