Please don't criticize- this is my first game in a while and in Pre-alpha! -------------- HELP WANTED: GAME OVER AND WINNING SCREENS. I'm having trouble working out the HP variables i made so that when it hits 0 or less the game stops and says "GAME OVER" (if the player dies) or "YOU WIN" (if the enemy dies). Help? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WORKING ON...: Game over and Winning screens Animation..? More avatars..? Music Refresh times for better attacks
Credit to Google for the images. Everything else is by me. :) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, so the pre-alpha's finally out. It's been 2 or 3 months since i started. Since school went nuts in January, development was paused. Before it was, development was flip-floppy and all over the place. School wasn't as ridiculous, so i could still work on it frequently, but i was a lot less experienced back then, so i couldn't really work out the coding. So after 3 months of all-over-the-place development, the pre-alpha's finally out! Below you'll find the update log and this game's origin story! ----------------------------------------------- UPDATE LOG 12/23(?)/16: Development started. 2/23/17: Pre-alpha released. ------------------------------------------ ORIGIN STORY ------------------------ This game was based on a game my siblings and i played in the pool in Florida in 2016. Those who have been with me for a while know and (might) remember the period of time i spent there (Mid-December 2016-Early January 2017), and maybe even the projects i put out in that time. Well, i was also to have breaks from school to go swimming in a nearby pool. One day when we were bored and swimming around for exercise purposes, i started splashing water at my brother and sister. They splashed back. Eventually we started having some variety in the attacks we used, and even gave them names we'd shout out when we used the attacks (yes, it's just as silly as you might be thinking it sounds XD). We'd play the game over and over every time we'd go to the pool. By the time we'd spent around 3 weeks in Florida, we were having more fun than ever playing Pool Fight, and i thought- "Why not make a Scratch game about this? It'll be awesome, with different attacks, AI..." After rambling on about the possibilities for the game for around 30 minutes, i got to work. I head home and started drawing the Boy avatar and getting backgrounds off of Google. But besides that, i still had work to do so i didn't have much time to work on the project. Soon after, we came home to Canada. My mom pulled a huge surprise on us, and our workload was more than doubled. The development was all flip-floppy for a few days, then it was placed on hold. Most days i didn't have time to work on it, and the time i managed to squeeze out of the days i COULD work on it was minimal. But after my workload lessened, i found more time to work on it. I still wasn't getting anywhere though- all my code was messed up and i was thinking of quitting and abandoning the project. But yesterday i had so much free time that i could create almost all the code you'll see in the project. The only bits i haven't made over the last 2 days are the size modifiers for the start screen and the background change script (the background shift part, not the rest of the script. XD). This is also my first time using a lot of the code seen in the project, so it was entirely experimental. Well, that does it for the origin story. If you made it this far, say NOM in the comments and have a taco! Congrats for being able to withstand my moaning until here! :'D
