Credit to Shigisato Itoi and Nintendo Nothing outside of the capsule can hurt what's inside the capsule, but that thing inside of it can never escape... All it can do is sit in there forever, not able to do anything. They can't ever get out. Doesn't that sound like a terrible fate? Yes, death and dying at the end of the world is terrible, but... Just being safe for the rest of your life while not being able to do anything? That's even more terrible than death in my opinion. I guess the ASC is a metaphor for one of the only things just about ever human wishes for... to be safe and can't be harmed forever. But it always comes at a price, I presume.
