THE SCP -SCRATCH CONTAINMENT PROJECT- SECURE, CONTAIN, PROTECT INFORMATION SUBJECT # - 001 SUBJECT NAME: 'SCRATCH' HEIGHT: 6'9" LOCATION: RUSSIA CONTAINED?: YES Day 1 We found all the cats to be sleeping at first. We recorded that their usual sleep routine follows: Sleeps at 9AM Wakes up at 11PM Day 2 Unusual sounds found their way out of the containment chamber. We tested what foods it enjoyed. Guess it didn't like foods in general. Day 3 The cats seemed to be deformed. I immediately reported this discovery to the head manager. Day 4 One "decided to quit". I don't know where it went. The head manager is very mad, I'll go search and then I'll write you all a P.S. P.S. It is now best friends with Test Subject 239 - the All-Doing Machine. I must say, it looks way better now! And for some reason, it's pale. DAY 5 A massive hole has shown its face to us. The entities are gone. SCP-239 and one of the Test Subjects have escaped. We have failed our mission, we did not successfully contain them, and many risks and hazards are sent to every end... of this world. Day 6 I decided to follow 239 and 001 specimen 4 into the hole. I found them and... AM I TRIPPING? THIS IS SO DAMN COOL! Sadly I'll have to wait for them to go back since I don't have a rope. Day 7 I'm back from the trance. Had a TERRIBLE nightmare of them jumping around. I finally got test subject 001-4 and put him in the chamber. While I was away, they started creaking on their own! I also got test subject 239 and patched the hole in the wall. Terry had an argument with him. 239 explained 001-4 wanted to go see the most trippy thing 239 could think of. It's still unreasonable to not display it on his screen, as he's usually very calm, co-operates with the facility and doesn't cause trouble at all. DAY 8 At 8:88, the 'Scratch' cats had a baby cat. Is this cat dangerous? Who out of the cats were the fathers and mothers? This baby seemed to be as functional as the other cats. DAY 9 Woah... The baby cat IS OVERGROWN. We gave it its own containment chamber and number - 889. It doesn't seem to creak much. We'll examine more. DAY 10 We have examined this fellow creature thoroughly, it remains normal apart from its size. There were many talks about a shrink ray, although would it be ethical to shrink any creature? We tested it on our biggest subject to date. It's now a clump of dust. It's saying something. How can we translate this message? DAY 11 We've decoded it. The words cGxlYXNlIGhlbHAgbWUK were encrypted in Base64 (which, if you didn't know, converts binary data into ASCII characters). When decoded, it reveals the hidden message: "please help me". We were concerned and regret it. Terry tried making it normal with water. Out came a wet, muddy paste and the downfall Terry's now ruined career. We also fixed the lights and noticed Test Subjects 001 are a lot more active! Especially 001-2. Also, we noticed that they're calmer via brain scans AND they creak in lower pitches. So high pitched creaks were probably signs of stress. DAY 12 We have gathered many specimens and extracted a handful of DNA from these 'SCRATCH' cats. We have implemented some of these aspects to create an ultimate being. A cyborg. A cat-cyborg. A cat-borg. An unlike creature, with wings. We decided to call this TEST SUBJECT - 892, otherwise knows as the NEO-SCRATCH CAT:REBORN. We hope to find new discovery for the scientific community with the invention of a robotic cat. We have contained it in the SCP for now in case if it ever goes rogue. We have ensured a button in the facility containing an immediate total power supply shutoff specifically for this creature. We hope that such doesn't happen. DAY 13 Subject 892 got new wings (the butterfly ones were too weak) and learned to move. It's quite active and way quicker. DAY 14 We have upgraded this creature to have the ability to blast lasers, the one it is currently shooting are extremely weak. We hope that such feature could help us eliminate future threats or allow it to shoot sleeping gas to assist and to nullify future SCPs. DAY 15 892 started moving again. Also, 889 grew, started moving and breathing, as well as croaking! It said something. How could we translate THIS? Maybe Base64 too? DAY 16 The so called cat was emitting some sort of dark matter. Has it found its will to live again? Is it resurrecting itself? Was it truly ever in a state of being completely dead? Or, is it reincarnating to a final, true form? DAY 17 889 has revived. We've returned it to the 001 chamber. It's sad, and doesn't creak at all. I must say, it looks very much like its father, 001-4. It is very introverted as it tries its best to turn away from the others and sometimes sits down, as if it's philosophating... Day 18 001-5 seems to get more sleepier than usual. Perhaps it dreams of true happiness. We tried to scan its brain, but all we were met with was a jumble of nonsense.
