We all know that LGBTQIA+ Pride Month has just ended. However, that means it's July. Disability Pride Month! This month is dedicated to people who live a physical or mental disability. It's far less well known than LGBTQIA+ Pride, but equally as real. Disability Pride has a flag as well, it is in the thumbnail of this project. -The black background is to mourn for the many disabled people who have been hurt or killed by abuse and neglected due to their difference. -The green stripe is meant to signify people with significant sensory disabilities, such as blindness or lack of smell. -The blue stripe represents psychiatric disabilities, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, to name a few. -The white stripe is for all those with undiagnosed and invisible disabilities. -The gold stripe stands for people with intellectual disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and Global Developmental Delay. -The red stripe denotes people with physical disabilities.
